XIX Annual Reinsurance Conference was held
at the President Hotel on 16-17^th April 2015

The theme of the conference – “Reinsurance in the New Economic Landscape: Opportunities and Risks”

Partner support for the 2015 Conference was rendered by following Russian and Foreign Insurance and Reinsurance Companies: "Ingosstrakh"; CJSC "Capital Reinsurance"; TRUST RE; "Industrial Reinsurance Company", the international rating agency Standard & Poor's.

Despite the difficult situation with the Russian economy, the Conference brought together 246 participants from 22 countries in the Western Europe, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia.

Traditionally, executives and top managers of insurance, reinsurance companies, brokers, adjusters, independent experts were the primary audience. Conference program covered the most pressing issues facing the insurance community such as analysis of the market situation of the domestic insurance and reinsurance, the forecast from experts, investors and shareholders about the prospects of industry development, operating under sanctions and the possibility of using additional reinsurance capacities.

The first day of the event, April 16^th, took the form of discussions and open dialogue between business and government. Particular attention was given to the prospects of creating a state reinsurance company.

Director of the insurance market of the Central Bank of Russia Igor Zhuk, RIA President Igor Yurgens, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC SOGAZ Nicholas Galushin, General Director of CJSC Kapital Re Nikolai Kolesnikov, Chief Executive Officer of JSIC Energogarant Andrey Zernov, General Director of IJSC GEFEST Alexander Millerman, General Director, Chairman of AlfaStrakhovanie PLC Vladimir Skvortsov, General Director of JSC Zurich Reliable Insurance Michael Hergesell, General Director of Zetta Insurance Ltd. Igor Fatyanov actively participated in the discussions.

The focus of the second day of the conference was shifted towards the exchange of experience and discussion of relevant practical issues such as results of contracts renewal, the additional costs in the settlement of losses, the use of foreign currency clauses in the conditions of exchange rate fluctuation.

Business-role playing game "Shall we pay?" enabled participants to analyze and debate specific insurance events, consider controversial issues and develop the right approach of handling of documents at the stage of signing the slip as well as in the settlement of the loss.

The conference was held in an open and friendly atmosphere. Active discussions, unobstructed discussion of issues, exchange views, audience interaction with the speakers, interactive polls allowed participants to properly assess the situation and outline their future professional plans.
